Make your own power perfume with this easy perfume recipe

Back in 1921, a French perfumer by the name of Earnest Beaux created a fragrance for Ms Gabrielle (Coco) Chanel. Being superstitious, Chanel named it after her lucky number “five”.

perfume recipe to empower the goddess withinChanel Number 5 has gone on to become one of the world’s most popular perfumes, made even more timeless by the likes of Catherine Deneuve, Nicole Kidman, Audrey Tautou, and of course, Marilyn Monroe (who, when asked what she wore to bed, famously responded, “Chanel No 5”.)

You don’t need a perfumer to design a signature scent for yourself…

You simply need a few basic ingredients and tools, and a desire to synergies with that blend and make it your own.

I’ve been working with a chemist recently to finesse my own signature scent, during which time I’ve picked up this great Power Perfume Recipe. Seeing as Bodicea is all about personal power, I thought it would be perfect to share with you today.

This is a recipe for a solid perfume, so it’s very easy to carry around with you without spillage. It’s also wonderfully moisturising – a double bonus!

What you will need:

  • A small glass bowl for mixing
  • A saucepan that you don’t mind getting dirty
  • A little stirring stick or the end of a teaspoon
  • A wide-necked container for your perfume. Preferably it will be made of glass, stone or ceramic, and ideally have a screw-top lid. It should be big enough to hold up to 3 tablespoons of liquid.
  • Goddess-ence 100% pure essential oil blend for the solar plexus chakra (Persephone)
  • 1 tablespoon Beeswax
  • 1 tablespoon Almond or jojoba oil or vitamin E

Put the almond or jojoba oil and wax in your glass bowl. Place the bowl in the saucepan and fill the saucepan with water until it reaches a couple of inches up the side of the bowl. Simmer the water until the wax has melted. Once your wax and oil has become fully liquid, remove it from the stove.

Add about 8 to 12 drops of the Persephone essential oil blend into the jar. Stir it gently until it’s thoroughly mixed.

Pour your liquefied wax into your perfume jar and let it cool for at least 30 minutes.

To use the perfume, simply rub your finger on the surface of the perfume and rub it onto your neck, wrist, pressure point or any place you desire.

As you apply your perfume, repeat a mantra such as “power” or an affirmation like, “My boundaries are clear,” and be reminded of your intention each time you catch a whiff of your power perfume throughout the day.

Shine on beautiful, powerful goddess!
Love, Anita Revel
